Recurring Monthly Events
Evening Meetings
Our monthly meetings are held in the evenings at the Hollidaysburg Church of the Brethren. Meetings include four topic areas: Personal Identity, Career Path/Paid/Volunteer Work, Personal Relationships, Financial Literacy as well as a variety of other topics. The meetings are held without children in attendance, but exceptions are made for very young infants (six months or less please). Through our evening meetings, moms are encouraged to take some time out for themselves. Our evening meetings may include a guest speaker, a member presentation, or an open discussion among those present.
Mom's Night Out
Mom's Night Out is an activity with just the mom in mind. We may go out to dinner at a local restaurant, catch a movie, or attend another social activiy. Mom’s night out is a wonderful opportunity to get moms out and be able to have some fun away from the family, enjoying the company of other moms.
Little People Playgroup (Ages 0-36 Months)
Your baby isn't too young for a playdate and it's as much for you as them! We meet at various locations so our little ones can interact with children their own age. Older siblings are always welcome to attend.
Empty Nesters
The kids are in school and you have some free time, let's get together and chat. Children not yet in school are welcome to attend.
Mom Squad
Mom Squad is activated when we have a mom and/or family in need. This can be due to an addition to the family, illness, emergency or another event. We provide meals and other assistance as needed by the mom and her family.
Playgroups
We have found that playgroups are a great way for children to learn to interact with one another and an even better way for moms to connect. Thus, the chapter offers morning playgroups, afternoon playgroups, evening playgroups, and the occasional weekend playgroup! We also have a variety of family events throughout the year where the whole family is welcome to attend!
Coffee Break
You're a mom, chances are you could use a break! Grab a cup of coffee and take some time for yourself. We usually meet at Panera Bread or Barnes & Noble.
Short Story Group
We read short and entertaining stories and then get together (moms only!) and discuss what we read! A great opportunity to exercise your mind!
Walking Group
We meet in the mornings or evenings for a walk. During the warm months, we walk at various parks and during the cold months, we usually walk at the mall. Kid's in strollers or older kids that will walk along with you are welcome to attend.
