Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible to join Mothers & More?
Anyone who supports the mission for Mothers & More is eligible for membeship including spouses/partners, grandparents and caregivers.
What makes Mothers & More different from other Moms'  groups?
We focus on Mom as a whole person.  While we have many activites for children and families, we also provide an opportunity for mothers to focus on themselves and their needs/interests outside of their caregiving roles.
Can I try out the chapter before I decide to join?
Yes!  Prospective members are welcome to try two events before deciding whether to join.  We provide news about some -but not all!- of our chapter events on the website.
What are some of Mothers & More membership benefits?
Members are entitled to participate in all chapter events, including:
Chapter Meetings, Mom's Night Out, Playgroups, Short Story Group and Walking Group.
Do I have to attend all meeting and events to remain a member?
Members aren't required to attend a certain number of events per month or per year.  You are free to participate in whatever way fits your needs.  We are happy to have you as a member no matter how you choose to participate.  We only ask that you do get involved in some way so you can meet and connect with other mothers because that's how you will have the richest and most rewarding Mothers & More experience.
I work full or part-time outside the home, will there be events that I can attend?
Yes!  Our chapter meetings and Mom's Night Out are always in the evening.  We also have many playgroups that meet in the evening.
Are children allowed at all chapter events?
Children are welcome at playgroups and family activities, however, because we encourage members to view chapter meetings as opportunites to focus on themselves as individuals, apart from the demands of family, children may not attend unless otherwise specified.  For some mothers, these are rare opportunities to spend time socializing away from home without children.  Other chapter events (Mom's Night Out, Short Story Group, etc.) are also specifically for mom's only.  We do welcome infants 6 mos and younger at chapter meetings to accomodate the special needs of mothers with infants.
Can another family member (spouse, grandparent) friend, or caregiver take my child(ren) to playgroups/events in my place?
Playgroups/events are open to any Mothers & More member and children in their care, therefore, a spouse, grandparent, nanny would have to have their own membership.
I'd love to become a member, but I'm facing a tight family budget.  Is there anything I can do?
We understand families make some tough money choices, making even a few dollars per month a stretch.  During these times, we believe that moms need the support of other moms even more.  Please contact our membership coordinator about scholarships for members--your request will be handled with respect for your privacy.
Can I receive a refund if I decide that membership is not right for me?  What if I move out of the area?
Memberships are non-refundable, which is why we encourage prospective members to try out two events before joining.  If you leave the area, you are welcome to either stay affiliated with our chapter or to transfer your membership to another Mothers and More chapter near your new home.
